JESSIE WARE – SAY YOU LOVE ME (SHURA REMIX)

‘Don’t give me time, because that’s not the same’

I’ve heard mixed reviews about Jessie Ware’s latest single ‘Say You Love Me’. Personally I think it’s stunning, but others have expressed the view that it comes across a little simple and basic in comparison to Jessie’s usual unique style. Those people may not be fans of the original, but when faced with the remix by London artist Shura (making waves with her releases ‘Just Once’ and ‘Touch’) they will surely feel differently. Shura fills the empty gaps with an electronic, pitch shifted, glitchy landscape and turns it on its head, breathing new life into the track and claiming it as her own. It’s not often I believe a remix improves on the original track, but this time, it’s pretty clear.

‘I don’t want to fall in love, if you don’t want to try’

Jessie Ware just full on knocked it out of the park with her latest single, debuted tonight on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show. ‘Say You Love Me’ is both hopeful and heartbreaking at the same time. Her vocal is flawless as always and she brings a touch of class that is so lacking in music of current times. Simply put, a stunning single.

JESSIE WARE- SHARE IT ALL

‘You’re looking the other way / Never show what you gonna do / But if you took the lead / Well I could follow you’

With guitar parts that would feel more than comfortable on a record from The xx and the soothing vocal Jessie is famous for, the second track shared from her forthcoming album is exactly what I was hoping for. And by the way Jessie, if you’re interested, I’d share everything from my life savings, to my shampoo and even my lunch with you if he keeps giving you problems.
